meet the center

Our Story

The Center Consultancy began with a shared belief: that workplaces can be more than places where people clock in and out — they can be spaces of belonging, growth, and transformation. Our founders, Hanif Fazal and Frewine Kiros, have spent decades working at the intersections of equity, leadership, and organizational change. Hanif’s journey began as a youth advocate and educator, where he saw firsthand how systems could either empower or marginalize entire communities. Frewine, drawing from her own lived experiences and work with leaders across industries, recognized how inequities play out in the workplace and how often well-intentioned organizations struggle to turn values into meaningful action.

Together, they saw a need for something different:
A consultancy that doesn’t just teach equity, but lives it.
One that moves beyond performative checkboxes and creates real, lasting culture change.
One that meets leaders and teams exactly where they are — and walks alongside them to build workplaces where all people can thrive.

What started as CEI (Center for Equity and Inclusion) has now evolved into The Center Consultancy, reflecting the growth of our vision. While our name has changed, our purpose has not:

To help organizations lead with clarity, inspire with equity, and build cultures of trust and belonging.

Today, The Center Consultancy partners with organizations across the U.S. and Canada, from grassroots community groups to Fortune 500 companies  carrying forward Hanif and Frewine’s founding vision:

A world where workplaces are not barriers, but catalysts for equity and possibility.
